Bank Dunia: Investasi Indonesia Melambat

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The World Bank expressed its compliment towards the Indonesian government in relation to the government's policy in dealing with the current economic condition.

Sudir Shetty, Head Economist of the World Bank for East Asia and the Pacific, complimented the Indonesian government's policy in reducing subsidy fund allocation. Sudir asserted that the policy will lead to better allocation of government expenses.

"[The policy] has a significant effect towards Indonesian fiscal [condition]," Shetty said through a conference call from Singapore on Monday, April 13, 2015.

World Bank's Head Economist for Indonesia, Ndiame Diop, said that the World Bank's prediction on 5.2 percent growth for Indonesian economy is considerably good because since 2011, Indonesia has been experiencing great pressure from decreasing commodity prices.

Diop asserted that decreasing commodity prices have caused corporate income to decrease and weakening the country's investment capability.
