TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Chairul Tanjung said that he had received information from the new government about the plan to raise the price of subsidized fuel.

“By God’s willing, the plan will be implemented in November this year,” Chairul said in Jakarta, Friday, October 18, 2014.

According to Chairul, with the increase of subsidized fuel price, the quota of fuel for this year will be adequate because demand for fuel is expected to decrease.

In the meantime, the National Economic Committee (KEN) has recommended the increase of subsidized fuel price to at least Rp3,000 per liter and also recommended the policy to be implemented this year.

“It is very likely for the government to increase the price this year. Next year, the government has to face the House of Representatives (DPRD) first and the House not given its full support for Jokowi’s government,” said Raden Pardeded, KEN Deputy Chairman.
