Jokowi to Receive Report on Fuel Price Adjustments

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo assured that the government is currently in the process of calculating the adjustment of subsidized fuel prices and that he will receive the final report from state ministers.
“[The study] and all of its calculations will be handed to me today,” said the President on September 2, during his visit to the Tanimbar Islands in Maluku.
The President has decided to distribute government social assistance to the public starting on August 30 even though fuel prices have not been increased. The latest one was distributed to Papua residents during his visit to Jayapura. He has also distributed social assistance to residents of the Tanimbar Islands today.
The government reportedly will increase the prices of two most popular fuel types sold by Pertamina; Pertalite and Solar (diesel fuel), creating long lines at gas stations that sold the two affordable fuels. However, to this day, the price adjustment has yet to be imposed by the government.
