TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released a weather forecast for the Greater Jakarta area or Jabodetabek today, June 20, noting that there will be no rain in the capital and its surrounding areas.
The skies over Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi will be mostly sunny and partly cloudy from morning to evening.
However, rain with lightning and strong winds is possible in Bogor Regency on a local scale and of short duration between the afternoon and late evening.
The weather forecast for the Greater Jakarta area is similar to that for the entire southern part of the archipelago.
According to the BMKG, as quoted from its daily early weather warnings updated on Wednesday afternoon, the potential for heavy rain is only for the country’s northern part, including Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, North Maluku, West Papua, and Papua.
