TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Despite the UN Security Council Resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel continues to wage war against Gaza. Israel attacked the Gaza Strip under the pretext of suppressing Hamas, a Palestinian resistance group.

Long before the war flared up, Israel declared its independence on May 14, 1948. However, the United Nations (UN) only recognized its independence on May 11, 1949. At that time, Israel's membership in the UN was approved by a majority of the 58 member states with certain conditions.

2. House Officially Approves Jakarta Special Status Bill

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) officially ratified the bill on the special status of Jakarta (RUU DKJ) during the plenary session at the Nusantara II Building in the Parliament Complex in Central Jakarta on Thursday, March 28.

The law maintains Jakarta as the country's economic hub after the government relocates the capital city to the State Capital of Nusantara or IKN in East Kalimantan.

3. Indonesia Still Attractive To Investors Amid Leadership Transition: Report

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia remains attractive for foreign investors to invest in government projects amid the government's leadership transition, Antara news agency cited a Grant Thornton Indonesia report on Indonesia's economic prospects in 2024.

The report, which was launched in Jakarta on Wednesday, said that although President Joko Widodo's leadership change has led to a "wait-and-see" attitude among some investors, Indonesia remains attractive to foreign investors.
