TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Three mainstay players of Shin Tae-yong: Rizky Ridho, Justin Hubner and Elkan Baggott are confirmed to be absent from playing for the Indonesian U-23 national team in the 2024 Paris Olympics playoff match against Guinea, Thursday, May 9. The three of them couldn't play due to different situations.

Ridho is still serving the accumulated red card penalty he received against Uzbekistan in the semifinals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. Justin must return to his club, Cerezo Osaka.

PSSI has tried to ask Justin to play for the Indonesian U-23 national team again, but Cerezo Osaka is reluctant to let him go. Meanwhile, Elkan, who was called to fill the vacancy of the two players, has not had any news until now.

Shin Tae-yong admitted that their absence affected the strength of the Indonesian U-23 National Team's back line. He believes that currently his team is in a difficult situation. "Justin was not released by Cerezo Osaka. I understand the club's decision. So I am very sad and regretful because he was not released," he said in a zoom meeting session with media from Indonesia, Wednesday evening WIB (Western Indonesia Time), May 8, 2024.

"There are several difficulties and challenges. You could say that currently there are not that many players. There are players who are not released by the club and can suffer minor injuries such as muscle injuries because we play so many games. I can't talk in more detail, but those injuries are what make "Our team is becoming increasingly difficult," he added.

Even so, the Indonesian U-23 National Team received an additional strength with the joining of Alfeandra Dewangga. The presence of the defender from PSIS Semarang adds additional options to the back line which previously only had two central defenders, namely Muhammad Ferarri and Komang Teguh.

Dewangga is predicted to appear as a starter in the match against Guinea. With Shiin Tae-yong's mainstay 3-4-3 scheme, he will play as a trio in the back line with Muhammad Ferarri and Komang Teguh. Meanwhile, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, who appeared as a central defender in the last match against Iraq, is expected to return to his original position as a defensive midfielder with Ivar Jenner.

Apart from changes in the back line, it is predicted that Shin Tae-yong will not change much in the composition of his first 11 in the match against Guinea.

The Indonesia vs Guinea U-23 National Team duel will be held at the Clairefontaine Stadium, Paris, France today, Thursday, May 9 starting at 20:00 WIB. The following is the predicted line-up for both teams.

Indonesia: Ernando Ari; Muhammad Ferrari, Komang Teguh, Alfeandra Dewangga; Nathan Tjoe-A-On, Ivar Jenner, Pratama Arhan, Ilham Rio Fahmi; Marselino Ferdinand, Witan Sulaeman, Rafael Struick.

Guinea: Conde; Saidou Sow, Mohamed Soumah, Ibrahim Diakite, Madiou Keita; F. Camara, A. Camara, S Bangoura, O. Camara, Ilaix Moriba; Facinet Conte.
