Hajj Quota in 2024 the 'Largest in Indonesian History', Religious Ministry Claims

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Director of Domestic Hajj Services at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Saiful Mujab said that the quota for Indonesian hajj pilgrims this year is the largest in history with 241,000 hajj quotas.

"In 2024, the number of pilgrims is the largest in the history of organizing Hajj in Indonesia," said Saiful Mujab in Jakarta on Sunday, March 24, 2024, as reported by the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ website.

Indonesia's quota for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage amounted to 221,000 pilgrims with an quota of 20,000 pilgrims.

A total of 10,000 additional quotas are intended for regular pilgrims, while the other 10,000 are for special pilgrims making the total number of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims this year 241,000 people, consisting of 213,320 regular pilgrims and 27,680 special pilgrims.

The regular pilgrims, Saiful continued, will be divided into 554 flight groups. They will depart from 13 airports and 14 embarkations. The first batch of Indonesian pilgrims is scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on May 12, 2024.

"We strive to do our best to serve Allah's guests (Hajj pilgrims), especially elderly pilgrims," said Saiful.
