TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan dismissed reports that he would resign from his position in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, saying that he would continue to be loyal to President Joko Widodo or Jokowi.

"I will never step down from [working with] Pak Jokowi," said Luhut via his personal Instagram account, @luhut.pandjaitan, on Saturday, October 28.

Luhut said he would stay loyal to President Jokowi until the 7th Indonesian president no longer needed the minister. Luhut stated that he considers Jokowi as a commander who should be supported at all costs.

Previously, it was reported that Luhut would resign from all positions he held in Jokowi's cabinet as he has been undergoing a recovery in Singapore since October. Jokowi appointed SOE Minister Erick Thohir to carry out duties as Ad Interim Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment.

Therefore, Erick Thohir will hold concurrent positions as Minister of State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) as well as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Ad-Interim. Erick Thohir also holds a number of positions held by Luhut.
