TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Transportation is conducting an evaluation after receiving reports of four main disruptions on LRT Jabodebek since its operation on Monday, August 28.
Ministry spokesperson Adita Irawati explained that the process is being carried out by relevant stakeholders under the direct supervision of the ministry through the Directorate General of Railways.
"There are four main disruption reports received by the ministry, namely the car door, the passengers' information screen, electricity, and operating system, it's currently being handled by INKA, the LRT Jabodebek division of PT KAI, and relevant stakeholders, targeted to be finalized at the start of September to the end of October," she said in a statement on Thursday, September 7.
Adita mentioned that until Wednesday, September 6, LRT Jabodebek has boarded 331,947 people, proving that there is great enthusiasm by the public who were hoping for a new transportation mode.
"So far, the feedback we have received is relatively positive, despite several notes that the agency has to evaluate," she added.
In addition, Adita said there are currently 12 trainsets ready for operation. "With the number of trainsets, for now, LRT Jabodebek will be operated from 5 a.m. to 06:58 p.m. with a 10-20 minutes headway," she said.
The trainsets will be gradually added into a total of 31 trainsets. Adita is optimistic that LRT Jabodebek will be able to operate with ideal operational hours and shorter headways in the future.
Meanwhile, the promotion fee will be implemented until September 30. The passengers only pay Rp5,000 to enjoy LRT Jabodebek with the promo. The ministry hopes the promo will encourage more people to board LRT Jabodebek and gradually reduce private vehicle dependency.
