LRT Jabodebek Records Over 3.8 Million Passengers During Q1 of 2024

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Light Rail Transit or LRT Jabodebek recorded 3,841,554 passengers during the first quarter of 2024. The number of passengers also sees a rise every month.
In January 2024, the number of LRT Jabodebek users reached 1,200,399, and 1,261,111 passengers were recorded in February 2024. In March 2024, LRT Jabodebek saw another increase in passengers, reaching 1,380,044 people.
Based on operational data, the LRT Jabodebek also shows a consistently high level of schedule accuracy, with 94.2 percent in January, in February it was 91.02 percent, and in March it reached 97.4 percent accuracy.
LRT Jabodebek Public Relations Manager, Mahendro Trang Bawono, said that the monthly growth in passengers reflects public trust in the LRT Jabodebek as the preferred mode of transportation.
This positive passenger growth was accompanied by improvements in service quality and safety for users. "We also hold various events to increase public interest, such as distributing free coffee and takjil, thematic competition events, as well as distributing multi-trip cards with special themes," he said in a written statement, on Monday, April 29, 2024.
He also appreciated the support from the Ministry of Transportation as a stakeholder, which has set promotional rates for LRT Jabodebek.
Apart from improving services, Mahendro said that the LRT Jabodebek is committed to providing safety for its users. "Since the start of operation until the first quarter of 2024, the LRT Jabodebek has succeeded in securing 2,254 items belonging to users who were left behind both on trains and in the station area," he said.
He explained that lost items include bags, electronic devices, cash, e-money, and personal accessories. Therefore, he appealed to users to be careful of their belongings and double-check them before getting off LRT Jabodebek or leaving the station.
