TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi inaugurated the opening of the Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road today, Thursday, July 20. In his remarks, Jokowi said that the 16.7 kilometer toll road construction cost Rp4.8 trillion.
"[The toll road] will support logistics mobility, people mobility, and will bring up new economic growth points," Jokowi said in his speech.
The president said that the toll road would be part of the Bengkulu to Lubuk Linggau segment. He hopes that the completion of this toll road will accelerate economic growth, accelerate the mobility of people and goods, and have an impact on people's welfare, because Bengkulu's competitiveness will definitely increase because of the toll's presence.
The Taba Penanjung–Bengkulu toll road is part of the Lubuk Linggau–Curup–Bengkulu Toll Road which has a total length of 96 km and consists of three sections.
The other two sections: the 54.5 km Section 1 Lubuk Linggau-Kepahiang and the 23.7 km Section 2 Kepahiang-Taba Penanjung, are in the preparation stage.
