TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police’s Drug Crime Directorate stated that the police have not yet found the trafficking of a new drug type called flakka which contains fentanyl in Indonesia thus far. Flakka is referred to as a zombie drug that causes emerging phenomena such as in Philadelphia, United States.

“With what is happening in America, during the meeting in Bali, we appeal to all levels to anticipate the trafficking of fentanyl from there (America and its surroundings),” said Deputy Director of Police’s Drug Crime Directorate Jayadi on Monday, May 29.

“Until today, until now, we have not found fentanyl trafficking in Indonesia,” he claimed.

Videos showing the current situation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s largest city, made rounds on social media. The city is facing a drug epidemic and is now deemed as the zombies' city as drug addicts move outdoors like zombies, walking aimlessly with blank stares due to the effects of drug consumption.

Earlier, the National Police’s Drug Crime Directorate thwarted the smuggling of methamphetamine disguised as curtains from Afghanistan to Indonesia. Five suspects were arrested, including two inmates of Class I Kosambi Penitentiary, Cirebon, West Java.

“From the suspects, we seize 12 kilograms of methamphetamine,” Jayadi said.
