TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police’s Cybercrime Directorate summoned the promoter of Coldplay concert in the case of alleged ticket sales fraud on Wednesday, March 24, 2023.

“The promoter will be questioned and has confirmed that they will come today at 19:00 WIB,” the National Police spokesperson Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Ramadhan said that the promoter, PK Entertainment, will be grilled about the ticket sales system.

The number of victims of alleged ticket scam cases who have filed a report to the police increased from 14 to 60 people as of Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

“Initially, there are only 14 people [asking for advocacy on the case], then the number increases to 60, with the initial loss of Rp32 million rising to Rp183 million,” the victim's attorney, Muhamad Zainul Arifin, said when met at the National Police HQ on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

According to him, the number is likely to increase because the data on losses has not been completed yet. Moreover, the case has not been submitted to the Attorney General's Office.

Scammers of Coldplay ticket sales are under threat of being charged with Article 45A in conjunction with Article 28 (1) of Law No. 19/2016 on the amendments to Law No. 11/2008 on electronic information and transactions or ITE Law and or Article 378 of the Criminal Code, as well as Article 3, 5 and 10 of Law No. 8/2010 on money laundering.

Coldplay is slated to perform at the Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. This show will be part of the British band's world tour series.
