Police to Deploy 2,335 Personnel to Secure Indonesia vs Australia Duel

10 September 2024 06:29 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe highly anticipated match between the Indonesian National Team and Australia in the second round of the Asian Zone 2026 World Cup qualifiers will take place today, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. The match will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Jakarta time.

“To ensure the safety and security of the match against Australia, the Metro Jaya Police have deployed a substantial force of 2,335 joint personnel,” announced Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Ade Ary Syam Indradi, on Monday, September 9, 2024.

The police will implement traffic management measures around the GBK area to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic. Ade urged the public to avoid the area unless necessary and to seek alternative routes. “For those attending the match, we request your cooperation in maintaining order and civility. We hope for a victorious outcome for Indonesia,” he added.

In the previous match, the Garuda Team demonstrated their competitive spirit by drawing against Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah on Friday, September 6, 2024, with a score of 1-1. Meanwhile, their upcoming opponent, Australia, experienced a setback in their previous match, losing to Bahrain by a score of 0-1 at Robin Stadium in Gold Coast on September 5, 2024.

Currently, Indonesia holds 1 point and occupies fourth place in the Group C standings, while Australia is in fifth place. The match will be broadcast live on RCTV and the Vision+ platform.

The Indonesian National Team will receive a significant boost for tomorrow's match with the return of Justin Hubner. The defender from Wolverhampton Wanderers was previously unable to participate in the match against Saudi Arabia due to a suspension for accumulated yellow cards.
