TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia won the eFootball World Cup or FIFAe World Cup 2024 Football Manager on Sunday night, September 1, 2024.
The Indonesian team, represented by Ichsan Rahmat Taufiq as manager and Budi Muhamad Manar Hidayat as assistant, brought home the world cup title after defeating Germany in the final match.
Germany, reinforced by Sven Goly as manager and T Wheneett as assistant, was defeated by Indonesia with scores of 3-0 and 5-2 so that in total Indonesia won 8-2.
In the group phase, Indonesia entered Group C and was assigned to train Sporting Lisbon along with four other rivals.
Ichsan and Busi were entitled to step into the semifinals after emerging as group winners with 364 points. The points were achieved after three seasons in charge of Sporting Lisbon with 150 points from league results, 113 for tournaments, 65 for trophies, and 36 points from management assessments.
Indonesia is ahead of other countries in Group C, namely Poland (343 points), France (331), England (295), and India (265).
Meanwhile, in the semifinal match which also took place on Sunday night, the Indonesian team successfully beat the British representative. The first game ended in a 2-2 draw before winning 3-1 in the next game for a 5-3 aggregate.
After the match, Ichsan said that Team Indonesia is confident of winning this event. “we are certain to win,” said Ichsan.
Meanwhile, Budi said that the key to Team Indonesia's victory in the final was playing 'attacking' and how to handle the opponent's tactics. “We play 'attacking', the most important thing is the opposite instruction. So we will guard every player who is dangerous and tackle them," said Budi.
