TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police’s Director General of the Traffic Corps Brigadier General Aan Suhanan predicted that the peak of the 2023 Eid homecoming or mudik will occur on April 18-21 or D-1 of Eid Al-Fitr.

“Then, the first wave of the return trip is likely to be on April 25,” Aan said in a public dialogue regarding the 2023 Eid homecoming at Grand Kemang Hotel, South Jakarta, today, March 28.

During the return flow, he opined that it is possible that travelers will return in two waves. The second wave is likely to be on the weekend or on May 1, 2023.

According to him, the predictions for the homecoming and return flow for 2023 Eid came after the suggestion to advance the 2023 Eid joint leave starting April 19. That is why the National Police forecasted that home-comers will start the trip on the evening of April 18.

“There will likely be an increase in the flow of travelers until April 21 or D-1 of Eid al-Fitr on April 22, 2023,” said Aan Suhanan.
