TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has personally monitored the progress of several venues that are slated for the upcoming 42nd ASEAN Summit in May, which will be held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

In an official press statement on March 14, the President wrote that “Each and every ASEAN member will be present.”

At the location, he confirmed that several venues are ready to host the regional event, and only a few finishing touches were left. "But the most important thing is that later we also want to promote Labuan Bajo as a super-priority destination," Jokowi said.

Upon encouraging the development of Labuan Bajo as a super-priority tourist destination the President inaugurated the Labuan Bajo-Golo Mori Access Road located at the West Manggarai Regency.

“This morning we can see ourselves the road from Labuan Bajo to Golo Mori has been completed. This will improve connectivity in order to develop Labuan Bajo as a super-priority tourist destination," said the president.
