Jakarta Sends 99 Personnel to Help Cianjur Earthquake Victims

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) head Isnawa Adji said the agency will send assistance worth Rp2.1 billion and 99 personnel to help victims of the Cianjur earthquake today, November 22, 2022.
“The collaboration team from the provincial government, led by the BPBD, plans to depart at around 12:00 after the briefing at the BPBD’s office field,” said Isnawa to Tempo in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
A 5.6-magnitude earthquake at 13:21 local time on Monday afternoon resulted in damage to houses, buildings, and shops in Cianjur Regency. It also killed and injured people as it led to landslides in several areas.
“As of 8 p.m. (Monday), based on the BPBD data, there are 162 people died, 326 people injured, 13,784 evacuees, and 2,345 buildings damaged,” wrote Jakarta Secretary Marullah Matali in a written statement today, November 22, 2022.
In addition to personnel, the Jakarta government will also mobilize a number of vehicles to assist the Cianjur earthquake victims, including 8 operational trucks, 4 operational double-cabin cars, 3 ambulances, 2 buses, and 2 two-wheeled trail bikes.
