6 Indonesians Progress to IFSC Climbing World Cup Semifinals

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Six Indonesian wall climbing athletes participating in the IFSC Climbing World Cup have successfully entered the semifinals. Four male climbers; Ravianto Ramadhan, Raviandi Ramadhan, Musauwir, and Muhammad Rizky Syahrafli passed the qualifying in Jakarta, on September 25.

In the women’s class, Indonesia will see two of 10 athletes progress to the next stage with Widia Fujianti and Lintang Cahyani Sukma.

Ravianto managed to record the best result by scoring 33 on Route 1 and 29+ on Route 2, which pushes him to the 14th spot while Raviandi scored 30+ on Route 1 and 30 on Route 2.

Musauwir and Rizky are in the 23rd and 25th positions respectively in the men's lead qualification table. Musauwir scored 28 (route 1) and 27 (route 2), while Rizky scored 29 (route 1) and 24 (route 2). The top positions are claimed by two Japanese athletes, Satone Yoshida and Yoshiyuki Ogata, who both won the top two climbs in the men's lead qualification.

As reported previously, the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI) chairperson Yenny Wahid said her main mission was to boost Indonesia's ranking at the world level of the wall climbing world cup. The 26 participants will compete in the semifinals which are scheduled to roll on Monday, September 26.
