TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) tourism agency on Monday announced that hotel accommodations spread in Mandalika, Mataram, and Senggigi as of Sunday, February 27, are still available for MotoGP race fans.
This came after rumors suggesting hotels nearby the Mandalika Circuit, set to host the Indonesian MotoGP race, had been fully booked. The tourism agency representative noted that the rumors might refer to hotels that are nearby the circuit and popular tourism sites.
“This data corresponds to our field findings. Star-rated hotels are sought after,” said Tourism Agency Head, Yusron Hadi on March 1.
He said the accommodations available up to February 27 on average are located two hours from the Mandalika Circuit, such as Senggigi (623 rooms available), Pemenang-Gangga (104), Batuklian-Kopang (302).
Meanwhile, accommodations within the Mandalika area, he said, are as follows: 12 tourism accommodation facilities; 20 homestay facilities, and 1,300 accommodations in the form of camping tents that are set to be marketed.
Yusron said that tourist accommodations located in the surrounding areas remain available. It will hopefully better accommodate the 60,000 MotoGP visitors quota, which had been reduced from the initial plan of 100,000 tourists.
