TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government decided to extend the enforcement of public activity restrictions (PPKM) protocol in all provinces including Bali and Yogyakarta for the next two weeks or until March 14. At present, the number of regions under the PPKM Level 4, which is the strictest level, increased from four to seven.

“The number of regions under Level 3 and 4 has increased. That's because we have tightened vaccination requirements in an effort to accelerate vaccination in all regions,” said the Director-General of Regional Administration at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Adwil Safrizal ZA, on Tuesday, March 1.

Seven regions under PPKM Level 4 status spread from Banten to East Java. They are Cilegon City of Banten; Sukabumi City and Cirebon City of West Java, Tegal City, Salatiga City, and Magelang City of Central Java; and Madiun City of East Java.

Meanwhile, all regencies and cities in Bali including Jembrana Regency, Bangli Regency, Karangasem Regency, Badung Regency, Gianyar Regency, Klungkung Regency, Tabanan Regency, Buleleng Regency, and Denpasar City are still under PPKM Level 3.

All regions of Yogyakarta Province also remain at PPKM Level 3, viz. Sleman, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Kulonprogo, and Gunungkidul.
