TEMPO.CO, Denpasar, Bali - The Bali Regional Police has prepared four security clusters for the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, namely Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Kuta, and Sanur.

Head of public relations for the Bali Regional Police, Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, said here on Wednesday that personnel will be deployed to various points in those clusters.

"(Personnel in) those clusters are responsible for (security) in their respective security zones," he added.

For the 10th World Water Forum, which is scheduled to be held from May 18–25, 2024, 1,700 surveillance cameras have been installed and connected to the Bali Regional Police Command Center and the Nusa Dua Command Center.

Panjaitan expressed the hope that the security readiness of the Bali Regional Police will receive a positive response and support from all levels of society, especially Bali residents.

He noted that support from Bali residents will positively impact the tourism sector of Bali going forward.

The Bali Regional Police will carry out the 2024 Tribrata Agung operation from May 18 to 27 to secure the event. The operation will involve as many as 5,791 personnel, comprising officers from the National Police headquarters, Bali Regional Police, East Java Regional Police, and West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police.

Indonesia was chosen to host the 10th World Water Forum, themed "Water for Shared Prosperity," during the General Assembly of the World Water Council in Senegal in 2022.

The forum is an international meeting of stakeholders in the water resources sector, such as governments, parliaments, political leaders, multilateral institutions, academicians, civil society, and business players.

It will discuss several crucial themes related to water, such as water security and prosperity; water for humans and nature; disaster risk reduction and management; governance, cooperation, and hydro diplomacy; sustainable water finance; and knowledge and innovation.

Around 30,000 participants from 172 countries are expected to attend the forum, including several heads of state.

The forum is expected to offer new solutions and commitments to achieving sustainable and fair water management.
