TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The West Jakarta Health Office puts 613 medical personnel on stand-by, prepared to help residents affected by flooding. In total, 303 general practitioners and 310 nurses are ready to help when needed.

"The doctors and nurses will be dispatched alternately at evacuation points to provide health services for residents affected by the flood," the Health Office chief Kristy Wathini said on Tuesday, November 16, as Berita Jakarta reported.

The Office is also preparing 75 environmental health workers, 62 nutritionists, 22 mental health workers, 65 reproductive health workers, 10 surveillance, 5 epidemiologists, and 49 drivers.

Outside human resources, the Office also prepares 17 units of ambulance, 16 shelter tents and 34 cots, among others. Food, sanitary items and medicine are also prepared.

"In principle, we will strive to provide the best health services, so that residents affected by the flood remain in good health even though they are in shelter camps," she said.
