Jakarta BPBD Warns of Extreme Weather Leading to Floods Nov 15-16

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) issued an early warning for extreme weather, including heavy rains, on November 15-16 which potentially lead to flooding in the capital city areas and its neighboring regions.
The bad weather potentially occurs between 7 a.m. today until 7 a.m. Tuesday as quoted from the agency’s Instagram account on Sunday, November 14.
According to the agency, the impact of potential flooding has different levels. All cities of Jakarta are in the alert status of Siaga (standby), while Tangerang, Depok, Bekasi, and Bogor are in the alert status of Waspada (caution).
People are asked to stay vigilant and careful of potential bad weather, including extreme rainfall in a short duration with lightning and strong winds.
To deal with flooding, people are urged to comprehend the handbook on the preparations for flooding via http://tiny.cc/bukusakusiagagunung. They can also report such incidents through the JAKI mobile app.
The BPBD further asked people to reach the Jakarta Siaga call center 112 for emergency situations, “or the emergency button on the Jakarta Aman app.”
