TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia' railway company PT. KAI has allowed children under 12 years old to be back on trains. After temporarily prohibited to board, kids can now ride trains again starting today, October 22.

"Although they are allowed to ride trains again, children under 12 years of age must meet the requirements, such as testing negative for Covid-19 for long-distance trains, wearing mask properly, in good health, and implement health protocols," PT. KAI VO of public relations Joni Martinus said in a written statement, Friday.

Children under 12 boarding trains must be accompanied by parents or adult family members, showing family registration cards as proof.

Children must also show their citizen's identity number or NIK. During the ride, passengers are not allowed to talk to each other or by phone, nor eat at drink—except those who must take medication.
