TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police internal affairs division (Propam) has scheduled a questioning session for the jailed high-ranking police officer Gen. Napoleon Bonaparte on Wednesday. Bonaparte allegedly physically abused another inmate, Muhammad Kace.
Head of the Propam Insp. Gen. Ferdy Sambo on Tuesday said that the Supreme Court (MA) had issued an official permit to interrogate Bonaparte.
“MA had granted permission to interrogate NB that was proposed by the Propam division,” Sambo wrote in a statement on September 28.
Bonaparte is one of the seven people questioned for the beating of Muhammad Kace inside the prison facility. Others to be questioned include prison guards and the prison warden. Police will officially name a suspect after they have been questioned.
Muhammad Kace is a defendant of a religious blasphemy case who received unpleasent treatment behind bars at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) prison facility. He reported the incident after he was allegedly beaten by Bonaparte and also had feces thrown at him.
