2 Killed, 1 Missing in NTT Flash Flood

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Flash flood that hit Inerie Village in Ngada, East Nusa Tenggara on Saturday, September 4, killed two and one went missing. The incident also severely injured one resident and 26 people must evacuate.

"This phenomenon was caused by high intensity rainfall on early days of Saturday at 00:00 local time," said the acting head of BNPB Disaster Data Center, Information, and Communication today, Sept. 4.

The regional disaster mitigation agency (BPBD) of Ngada Regency has evacuated the injured residents. The BPBD worked together with National SAR team, the military (TNI), and police personnel to help the affected and look for the missing people.

The flash flood has swept away five houses. BPBD is still collecting data of damaged houses and other infrastructures. The people there are in urgent needs of clothes, blankets, beds, medicines, foods, masks, and house materials.
