TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) in its latest circular announced that it will require travelers flying aboard Java and Bali flight routes to possess a vaccination certificate and a negative Covid-19 PCR swab test result card that is valid for two days.

The airport operator will enforce the Transportation Ministry’s Circular No.45/2021 which will be effective starting on Monday, July 5, under the Java-Bali emergency PPKM (public activity restriction).

AP II president director Muhammad Awaluddin assures that the company’s focus will be imposing the Transportation Ministry’s circular “Amidst the emergency PPKM as a means to mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic,” in a written statement on July 5.

To support the government’s goal of vaccinating as many people as they can against Covid-19, Angkasa Pura II has prepared vaccination centers across airports managed by AP II. The Indonesian government has set a goal to vaccinate at least 2 million people come August.

Travelers will be met with two screening checkpoints in AP II airports before they are permitted to progress to board their flights. The first checkpoint will check for vaccination certificate ownership - first dose vaccination is the minimum requirement - and the second will screen PCR test results that show negative for coronavirus.

The requirement to show vaccination certificates excludes those who are traveling under specific medical reasons and people who have not been vaccinated due to medical reasons backed with official documentation from a medical expert.
