TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has released an ebook of the contingency plan as guidelines for handling COVID-19 clusters in an effort to prevent and curb coronavirus transmission.

The guidebook contains the handling of COVID-19 clusters with 3T (tracing, testing, treatment) and 5M (wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and limiting mobility).

National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Argo Yuwono said the e-book was a form of the police’s contribution to supporting the government to prevent the further spread of virus infections.

“This is solely done to uphold the principle of salus populi suprema lex esto, that the safety of people is the supreme law,” said Argo in a written statement on Friday, June 25.

Argo explained the ebook stipulated things that must be prepared in an area, such as COVID-19 posts and facilities and infrastructure including swab antigen kits, personal protective equipment (PPE), medicines, tracing, quarantine or isolation, communication media, and COVID-19 education.

“Also, the preparations of logistics such as public kitchens and the determination of isolation centers and referral hospitals,” Argo added.

The closure of the smallest regional unit such as neighborhood units (RT) or sub-districts was also regulated in the ebook. “All requires cooperation and collaboration to rise against COVID-19. The main principle of handling COVID-19 is to prioritize the safety of the public and officers,” Argo said.
