TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police's Special Anti-Terror Detachment or Densus 88 arrested a suspected terrorist identified as KDW in Bogor, West Java.

The Head of Public Information Bureau of the National Police, Brig. Gen. Rusdi Hartono, said KDW is a member of the terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD)

“KDW has a role in preparing chemicals that are used as raw materials for making bombs,” said Rusdi at his office, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

From KDW, the police’s anti-terror squad seized various chemicals such as dextran, sodium borate, and HCL which are suspected to be used to create explosives.

Additionally, the police found that KDW often disseminated content related to the terror group on his social media. He was also an administrator of a WhatsApp group discussing jihad or extremist agenda.

“Members of the WhatsApp group that are KDW group always discuss jihad and daulah,” the police spokesman said.
