Govt Guarantees Covid-19 Vaccines for '18 Years Old' and Above' Group

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has assured that people aged 18 years old and above will receive their share of Covid-19 vaccine shots in order to succeed the goal to vaccinate 70 percent of the population.
Covid-19 task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito in a statement on Thursday said “for sure people over 18 years old is one of the demographics the government is targeting and we will surely vaccinate this group.”
Citing Antaranews, the government will continue to accelerate its nationwide vaccination on priority groups who are prone to coronavirus exposure.
Other demographics the government is focusing on include elderly citizens and key groups for national development such as teachers.
As of June 8, 2021, Indonesians who have received Covid-19 vaccine shots amount to a total of 40.3 million people comprising people in the healthcare services and public services workers.
