Police Hold Swab Antigen Test in Mudik Check Points

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Traffic police chief Insp. Gen. Istiono ordered his personnel to perform random swab antigen tests at mudik check points to anticipate the movement of people traveling back to Jakarta from Eid homecoming (Mudik lebaran).
"Vehicles are predicted to move from Java and Sumatra to Jakarta. So, random swab antigen tests will be done," he said in a written statement on Saturday, May 15.
Istiono ensured the police will not let anyone slide from the random swab test. He also urgently asked the people who have businesses in Jakarta to show the test result, especially those coming from Sumatra.
"We'll hold random test for those coming from Java, while those from Sumatera must take the test," he asserted.
The government bans this year's Eid homecoming for all of Indonesians, including state apparatus personnel (ASN), military (TNI) and police personnel, as well as private employees or freelancers. The police deployed 166,734 personnel to secure 381 spots throughout the country. The officers firmly ask those who tend to violate the regulation to turn back their vehicles.
