TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said during the 2020 Candlelight Operation or Operasi Lilin 2020, the police will provide free rapid tests and swab antigen tests services at 30 outposts located across Jakarta Greater Area or Jabodetabek. This free program was aimed at monitoring people who are planning to go on year-end holidays.
"We are preparing several outposts, seven in Jakarta and 23 at border areas, including in train stations, airports, and bus terminals," said Yusri at the Jakarta Police HQ, South Jakarta on Tuesday, December 22, 2020.
Yusri said that the outposts will be established in consideration of the long queue of people waiting to take rapid antigen tests at the airport and train stations. Yusri hoped that the free service could lessen the crowds.
The police will also provide a drive-thru swab antigen test facility to facilitate the public. The construction of the 30 posts will begin on Tuesday evening, December 22, 2020, Yusri added.
"The outposts will have complete services from polyclinics and the police's Medicine and Health Department [Biddokkes] that will issue a Covid-19 free letter to those who have been tested," Yusri explained.
Yusri added that people whose test results are reactive or are diagnosed positive for Covid-19, will be evacuated using an ambulance to the Wisma Atlet emergency hospital.
The 2020 Candlelight Operation that will last for 15 days beginning on December 21, 2020, until January 4, 2021, is aimed to maintain security during the Christmas and New Year 2021 holidays.
