TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta government has implemented a low emission zone (LEZ) policy in the Kota Tua or Old Town area for 24 hours starting Monday, February 8. This policy applies to all types of private vehicles and motorized goods.

Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said this was the second time this policy was enforced in the area.

"The Low Emission Zones are the same as before, namely the North Pintu Besar Street, West Kalibesar Street on the Southside, Kunir Road on the South side, Kemukus Road, Ketumbar Road, and Lada Road," he said, Thursday, February 4, 2021.

Vehicles that are prohibited from crossing the low emission area are private vehicles, goods transportation, and non-Transjakarta public transportation. An exception is made for vehicles that have passed the emission test.

Syafrin appealed to visitors and workers based in Kota Tua to use public transportation to get around.
