TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police will summon Rizieq Shihab again for questioning next week, December 7. The Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader did not appear at the station when the police summoned him the first time.
Rizieq Shihab's attorney, Aziz Yanuar, said that he had received the summons from investigators, which the police sent to his client's home in Petamburan, Central Jakarta.
"That's right, that's the letter," Aziz said when shown a photo of the summons, Thursday, December 3.
The police will question Rizieq Shihab as a witness related to the criminal allegations against the law on Health Quarantine and Article 216 of the KUHP.
The violations allegedly took place on November 13 and 14 in Tebet, South Jakarta and KS. Tubun Road, Central Jakarta. On November 13, Rizieq attended the Prophet's birthday celebration in Tebet. The next day, he held a wedding reception for his daughter, which also served as FPI's celebration event for the Prophet's birthday.
Rizieq was called to questioning yesterday, December 2. He did not come, saying he was still recovering from an illness and was being treated at the Ummi Hospital in Bogor.
The Jakarta Police's PR chief, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus, said that Rizieq Shihab's reason was unacceptable and unreasonable, as he did not provide the police with a doctor's note.
