TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) announced that train tickets for year-end holidays were now available. People can book the ticket through the KAI Access app, the official website kai.id, and other official sales channels.

“We have opened ticket bookings for people wishing to travel for Christmas and New Year holidays with discipline in implementing the health protocols,” said KAI VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus.

He asserted that people should not hesitate in using rail transport because the company operated the trains while strictly complying with the health protocols against COVID-19.

Besides, KAI committed to limit the train capacity to 70 percent during the pandemic in a bid to create physical distancing as mandated in the Circular of Transportation Ministry No. SE 14/2020 dated June 8, 2020.

Passengers of long-distance trips are also required to be in good health (not having flu, cold, cough, fever), have body temperatures below 37.3 degrees Celsius, and wear long-sleeved clothes or jackets.

Customers are also required to present a COVID-19-free hospital letter, either a PCR test or Rapid Test, which is still valid 14 days from its issuance day, or a symptom-free certificate such as influenza issued by a doctor from a hospital or health center for areas that do not have PCR test facilities. KAI also provides rapid test services for Rp85,000 at 31 stations.
