TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) submitted a document containing the names of witnesses allegedly involved in the Djoko Tjandra case to the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim). Based on the release that Tempo received, the first name was Tommy Sumardi.

“Tommy is suspected to have asked Brig. Gen. Prasetijo Utomo to introduce him with an official from the police’s international affairs division who is in charge of NCB-Interpol Indonesia in April 2020,” said MAKI coordinator Boyamin Saiman on Monday, August 10.

The National Central Bureau (NCB)-Interpol Indonesia was later found to have informed the immigration office that the fugitive’s red notice had been revoked as it was not extended by the Attorney’s General Office since 2014.

“Other information reveals that Tommy has a daughter who is engaged with Najib Razak’s (former Malaysia PM) son. Najib is allegedly a friend of Djoko,” Boyamin added.

The other witness was Viady and Rahmat S. Viady was allegedly Djoko’s partner who also accompanied the latter to Pontianak in mid-June 2020. “[Rahmat S] is allegedly related to Anita Kolopaking (Djoko’s lawyer], who asked Anita to be Djoko’s advocate,” he said.

Boyamin said Rahmat even had visited Malaysia twice to meet Djoko. The first trip he was with Attorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari, while the second trip with Pinangki and Anita as well.

The last name was Attorney Pinangki. “It has been known that the attorney met with Djoko Tjandra in Malaysia,” Boyamin concluded.
