TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah underlined that her side would oversee the implementation of the new normal health protocols in the business sector. Companies that failed to adhere to the protocols for their employees would face sanctions.

“The Manpower Ministry will hold training and supervision. The first is, of course, holding training,” said Minister Ida Fauziyah after inspecting the spraying of disinfectant in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, Friday, June 12.

To ensure that everything is in accordance with the protocols, the corona occupational safety and health or K3 Post that has been established since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic could be used for consultation service. However, if necessary, the ministry’s officers can visit the workplace.

Ida asserted that there would be administrative sanctions if a company was proven to violate the protocols.

“We prioritize the training, on how a company resumes its business, remains productive while maintaining its employees’ health at the same time,” she said, adding that her side would first monitor it online without neglecting the quality of the supervision.

Previously, Ida Fauziyah issued a Manpower Ministerial Circular No. M/7/AS.02.02/V/2020 concerning the business continuity plan during the COVID-19 pandemic and health protocols in companies, in which employers are expected to, among others, recognize their business priorities, identify pandemic risks, and plan their risk mitigation efforts.
