64,000 COVID-19 Impacted Families in Tangerang Receive Aid

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Tangerang Mayor Arief Wismansyah stated that around 64,000 underprivileged families in Tangerang impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak will receive food assistance. The Tangerang City Government has distributed 30 tons of rice to several villages on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

"So we have collected the data, there will approximately be 64 thousand families. We have also coordinated with the Ministry of Social Affairs, and there will also be assistance from the central government," Arief said in the Tangerang City COVID-19 Control Secretariat, on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

Furthermore, Arief has asked the residents of Tangerang City to be discipline in adopting a healthy lifedata-style and to follow the government's advice on COVID-19 prevention, geared to avoid further transmission of the virus.

"Coronavirus infection can be cured, it only takes time, and do not transmit (the virus), continue to do social physical distancing, keep your distance, and don't forget to use masks outdoors because that will be safe for us and our surroundings," he added.
