TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo denied recent rumors that he was planning to reshuffle the Indonesia Onward Cabinet.

"Until now, I and Pak Vice President have never considered it [reshuffle]," said the President who was accompanied by VP Ma'ruf Amin after attending the annual report of the Supreme Court in Jakarta Convention Center, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

The issue about a cabinet reshuffle was first raised by Dede Budhiyarto, a volunteer of Jokowi-Ma'ruf campaign in the 2014 and 2019 presidential election. He said that the President planned a cabinet shake-up during the meeting with supporters including entertainers, social media influencers, and social media relations in Bogor Palace, West Java, on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

Dede claimed the President was considering to remove cabinet ministers who showed poor performances. "I wanted to share about the meeting result with President @Jokowi, but I got sick after returning from Bogor Palace. The point is, there will be a reshuffle. Let’s just wait. Ministers whose poor performance will be removed," said Dede through his Twitter account @kangdede78.

The issue continued rising after a pollster Lembaga Parameter Politik Indonesia released a survey result noting that ministers overseeing economy were under the public spotlight for 100 days of Jokowi's second term because of fluctuating prices.

"Commodity prices are up and down. Besides, the economic growth stays in 5 percent and many people say they find difficulties to have a job," said the director executive of Parameter Politik Indonesia Adi Prayitno.
