Floods Inundate Dozens of Jakarta Area

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Floods submerge Jakarta on Tuesday, Feb. 25, due to heavy rain showering the capital since last night.

TMC Metro Police stated on its Twitter account that a number of spots in the city are inundated with water in various heights, forcing the traffic police and Jakarta transportation department to drop the odd-even policy at several roads.

Jakarta Provincial Government also shared the same information, "On Tuesday, 25 February 25, 2020, the odd-even traffic policy is [temporarily] revoked. via @DishubDKI_JKT," said Jakarta Administration through its Twitter account @DKIJakarta, this morning.

The authorities call on the road users to be careful when passing several roads inundated with floodwater.

SOUTH JAKARTA

1. Aspol Pondok Karya, Mampang Prapatan, with 80 cm flood.
2. Poncol area, Kuningan Barat, Jakarta Selatan, with 30-50 cm flood.

EAST JAKARTA
1. Jengki, Cipinang Asem, Kebon Pala, with 40-50 cm of water. The floods enter residential area.
2. Jalan Kol Sutomo 2, Kebon Pala, with 30-40 cm flood.
3. Jalan Kayu Mas Timur Raya, Pulo Gadung, at 20 cm.
4. Pegadungan, with 50-60 cm flood.
5. Jalan Sutomo II, Cawang, at 30-40 cm.
6. Jalan Tanjung, Kelapa Dua Wetan. Water floods residential area at 30-40 cm.
7. Jalan Bulak Barat 2, Klender, at 20-50 cm.
8. Kampung Tengah Kramatjati, at 40-50 cm
9. Pondok Kelapa, water inundates residential area at 30-40 cm.
10. Kebon Nanas, Jalan DI Panjaitan, at 20-40 cm.
11. Underpass of Jalan DI Panjaitan, with 100 cm flood; a traffic engineering is implemented.
12. Klender, Duren Sawit, at 40-50 cm.
13. Pulo Gadung industrial area, at 40-50 cm.
14. Rawadas, Pondok Kopi, with 30-40 cm flood in the residential area.

NORTH JAKARTA
1. Jalan Pluit Raya, with 30-40 cm flood.
2. In front of Inpres Market, Jalan Kelapa Gading Timur, with 20-30 cm flood.

CENTRAL JAKARTA
1. Jalan Gunung Sahari II, with 30-40 cm flood.
2. Jalan Gunung Sahari, with 30-40 cm water.
3. Jalan Swadaya, Cempaka Baru, Kemayoran, at 60 cm.
4. Sumur Batu, Kemayoran, with the height of water at 20-40 cm.
5. In front of Transmart Cempaka Putih, at 30-50 cm.
6. Jalan Anyar Menteng, with 30-50 cm of flood in residential area.
7. In front of the University of Indonesia's Salemba campus with 20-40 cm of water.

WEST JAKARTA
1. Jalan Satria Raya, Grogol, at 30-50 cm.
2. Semanan area, at 30-40 cm
3. Pulo Indah Complex, Duri Kosambi, Jakarta Barat, with 30-40 cm flood.
