Police Examine 3 Guards following Shooting in Cipinang Prison

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - East Jakarta Police examine three guards in relation to the shooting incident committed by an unknown person in Cipinang Detention Center, East Jakarta, yesterday. The three jail guards were on duty when the incident happened.

"We are examining three witnesses," said East Jakarta Police Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit, Adj. Sr. Comsr. Hery Purnomo, when contacted on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

Hery did not elaborate on the examination but said that his office would inspect CCTV cameras around the location.

Regarding the identity of the perpetrator, he said that his team had not yet pocketed the identity. "Not yet," he said.

The incident at the Cipinang Detention Center happened on early Monday at around 02:00. But the police only got the news about the shooting at around 07:00.

After receiving the report, Hary immediately sent his team to the crime scene. The initial examination stated that the perpetrators allegedly used gas weapons since no projectiles were found at the scene. There were no victims in the mysterious shooting.
