TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Chief of Public Relations, Sr. Comsr. Yusri Yunus, announced the plan to investigate the ‘King of the King’ case that has caused a commotion in Tangerang today. The police will look for criminal elements using Articles 14 and 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946, regarding hoaxes.

"If it fulfills the criteria, we will carry out an investigation and summon Prapto, who ordered the putting up of the (King of the King) banner," Yusri said at the Soekarno Hatta Airport Police Station, Tangerang, on Thursday, January 30, 2020.

The Jakarta Police has ordered police in the Tangerang area to remove any ‘King of the King’ banner if it is found in its legal jurisdiction. In addition, the police have also consulted several expert witnesses for their opinion.

King of the King garnered the public’s attention after a large banner was displayed on the main street of Tangerang City. The banner helped enliven the emergence of the 'Keraton Agung Sejagat' in Purworejo and 'Sunda Empire' in Bandung.

The banner proclaimed the King of the King’s mandate to open assets geared to pay the Indonesian Government’s debt. The King of the King claimed to have Rp60,000 trillion in funds deposited in a Swiss Bank account.

In an interview, a member of the King of the King, Juanda, claimed that his organization occupied the two highest financial institutions in the world; first, the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) and the Indonesia Mercusuar Dunia (IMD).

With the asset being said to be a legacy of President Sukarno, the banner showcased President Sukarno alongside the King of the King, Donny Pedro.

Furthermore, the banner also listed the names and roles of the members of the King of the King, including their profile photos. Based on the results of the investigation, Tangerang Metro Police Chief Commissioner Sugeng Haryanto stated that, thus far, the King of the King is not a kingdom.
