Police Examine Potential of Crime in Slipi's Collapsed Building

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police chief of public relations Comsr. Yusri Yunus said his office has examined seven witnesses in the incident of the collapsed building of a convenience store Alfamart in Slipi, West Jakarta. From the results, Yusri said there is a potential criminal that may be imposed.
"We will see (if there is the potential of crime) because there are victims here," said Yusri in Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 9, 2020.
According to Yusri, proper maintenance of the building had never been conducted since the owner purchased the property in 1997. "No maintenance was ever been done," he Yusri.
The store building collapsed on Monday morning, January 6, 2019. The five-story building is a convenience store, Alfamart, that collapsed from the top floor up to the 2nd floor. Due to that incident, 11 people reportedly injured.
