TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police and city administration today, December 5 launched an application "Help Renakta" to help women and children falling victim to violence.

“The app is a follow up of the MoU between the police and Jakarta governor some time ago,” said Jakarta police chief Gen. Gatot Eddy Pramono in South Jakarta, Thursday, December 5.

The application is equipped with features, such as a map showing the location of the nearest help center, a section displaying information related to legal aids and missing children, and the emergency button.

According to Gatot, the panic button had four functions, namely hotline, buzz, call Renakta, and SOS.

“This application is our effort to get closer to children and women being victims of violence so they can obtain legal counseling. When pressing the panic button, the nearest police will provide service to the victim,” Gatot explained.

In addition to the special app for women and children, Jakarta Metro Police also launched an application "Satpam Mantap" to synergize with security officers to guard several areas, such as shopping areas, office areas, and public spaces in a bid to avert, and early detect criminal acts.
