TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2nd National Women's Conference integrated nine main agendas of women, people with disabilities, and marginalized groups to ensure they are included in medium- and long-term national development planning documents.

"We are making the momentum of Kartini Day a milestone in Kartini's dream of making women able to determine their own destiny," Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Bintang Puspayoga stated in Badung, Bali, on Saturday.

R.A. Kartini is hailed as Indonesia's symbol of women's emancipation. Her birthday, April 21, is celebrated as Kartini Day.

The 2nd National Women's Conference, attended by 1,500 participants and 11 INCLUSION partners, took place at the Giri Nata Mandala Cultural Hall located in Badung District, Bali, on April 20.

This conference serves as a model for addressing the nine key issues facing women, people with disabilities, and marginalized groups.

The nine key issues cover the topics of poverty, women workers, preventing child marriage, women's economic empowerment, women's leadership, women's health, women and the environment, women and children in conflict with the law, and violence against women and children.

"How women have dreams and make those dreams come true—that is what we hope will be confirmed today. From these nine issues, hopefully, we will oversee the national development plan," Puspayoga stated.

The 2nd National Women's Conference was a collective action organized by INKLUSI (Australia-Indonesia Partnership Towards an Inclusive Society), partnering with the Ministry of PPPA and with support from the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas).

The collective action was coordinated by the Women's Alternative Education Circle Institutions and supported by the INKLUSI Secretariat.

The INCLUSION program is a collaboration between the governments of Indonesia and Australia through the coordination of Bappenas.

The conference agenda kicked off with a dialogue between the minister and representatives of INKLUSI partner civil society organizations that provide direct assistance to women at the grassroots level.

The activity was held at the Giri Nata Mandala Cultural Hall in Badung, Bali, on April 19.

On April 20, the book, titled "Suara Perempuan" (Women's Voice), was handed over to the minister. Thereafter, a presentation was held on nine main topics on women, disabilities, and marginalized groups for the 2025–2029 National Development Plan.

The conference concluded with the submission of proposed development plans for 2025–2029, incorporating the needs of women, people with disabilities, and marginalized groups, to Bappenas.
