Moeldoko Says America Support Indonesia Sovereignty over Papua

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said that the United States of America supported the sovereignty of Indonesia over Papua. He said the encouragement was voiced by Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
“What we all want is support from America for the recent condition in Papua. And he strongly supports for the sovereignty,” said Moeldoko in Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, Monday, September 2.
He explained that the support is in any form, especially in the diplomacy in maintaining the situation jointly considering the country has a business in the eastern region of Indonesia.
He claimed there was no specific issue about the province canvassed during the meeting, but three main topics. Two of them are Jokowi’s priority agenda and the Indonesian government’s view on the development in the South China Sea.
“And the last is on how to develop a business balance between America and Indonesia in the trade sector,” Moeldoko concluded.
