TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The West Java cultural and tourism board is composing a program that will handle issues regarding Pandandaran Beach's waste problems. The board plans to introduce a program where tourists can trade the trashes they collected with hotel discounts and shopping vouchers.

"Later on, the wastes collected by tourists will be able to be converted to hotel vouchers, culinary discounts, up to free bus transports," said Head of the West Java Cultural and Tourism Board Dedi Taufik on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

The Tourism Board has partnered with business owners throughout Pangandaran to support the waste-to-voucher trade-in program.

"This is what we need to utilize. We will first apply it at Pangandaran Beach and will be followed at other tourist destinations in West Java," said Dedi.

Dedi mentioned that Pangandaran Beach is currently facing a serious issue regarding waste along with the growing number of tourists that visit the site.

Numerous ticket boxes will be established for tourists to trade the trash they collected during their stay at the region.
