TEMPO.CO, Vancouver, CanadaThe Indonesian Consulate General of Indonesia in Vancouver, along with ITPC Vancouver and Brooklyn Industries (Canada), held a Business Forum at KJRI Vancouver on (5/2), according to Indonesian Consulate General in Vancouver. The event featured various companies and entrepreneurs from various fields.

As reported from kemlu.go.id, in the opening session, Consul General Hendra Halim emphasised that, in order to enhance the presence of Indonesian products in Canada, including British Columbia, it is necessary to involve young entrepreneurs whose role is increasingly significant in Indonesia's economy. In this context, it includes the role of young people in producing environmentally friendly and sustainable products.

One of the highlighted products in this Business Forum is the vegan leather product from Bell Living Lab based in Indonesia, attracting at least 30 attendees to explore the use of vegan leather products from coffee waste to create various other products. During the event, several companies expressed interest in obtaining vegan leather material from Bell Living Lab. Blanche Macdonald, a fashion and beauty school in Canada, hopes that Bell Living Lab can provide a brief lecture on vegan leather to students at the campus.

In addition to a talk show to deepen understanding of this vegan leather product, including its production process and capacity, the event also included a workshop where participants had the opportunity to sew this leather-like material (M-Tex) into a wallet. This session sparked the interest of participants who believed that the strength of this vegan leather is equivalent to regular cowhide.
