TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The team of presidential hopefuls Joko "Jokowi" Widodo praises Democrat Party chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) who issued an instruction to the party's higher-ups to not taking parts in activities that are against the constitution and laws.

"It's good instruction, we appreciate it. The compliance to the constitution shows a true character of a leader," said the secretary of Jokowi-Ma'ruf campaign team, Hasto Kristiyanto at PDIP office, Friday, April 19.

Hasto asked all parties to accept the result of the 2019 general elections. "Let's respect all of the processes," he said.

Previously, Yudhoyono delivered four instructions to Secretary-general of Democrat Party Hinca Panjaitan, Democrat Chairman of the Board of Trustees E.E. Mangindaan, and Democrat Deputy Chairman Syarief Hasan. This message was also forwarded to the party's Chief of Joint Task Force Command Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY.

Firstly, the sixth Indonesian president asks them to closely monitor the development of the situation in the Indonesian soil post the 2019 general elections. He views that the current political situation shows tension and may lead to a situation that endangers the politics and security.

"To make sure that the management and cadres of Democrat Party not taking part in activities that are against the constitution and laws, and not in line with the policy of the Democrat Party leaders," he said in the second point of the instruction.

The third point says that SBY is asked to be informed if situations that lead to dangerous conflicts and crises occur. Lastly, he warns that the instruction shall be put completely into effect.
